Default Starter Problem.... (I Think)

When I go to start my car it seems to click. It isn't the main relay, I jsut replaced it. I cleaned all the gorunds on the car and made all the connections new. The starter clicks when I go to turn it over. It is like I get lucky sometimes, it will just start easily, but other times it will be a pain in the A** and take about 50 times and then will finally click click click and try to turn over, and start. I need a new starter right? Much appreciation for some help.

Did you make sure that the battery connections are secure and clean? I had the same issue and it went away after I cleaned and tightened the battery terminals down.

Default try this

the next time your car starts the clicking hit the starter with a wooden dowel or a hammer, if the car starts your starter is in need of brushes or worse...... my 89 civic does the same thing occasionally and it works everytime
