best motor for my 1989 hatchback
Right now i am debating between 3 motors.
Im thinking of the following motors:
B16a1 (jspec) - 160 hp and 111lbs of tourque ( not very tourquey but cheap motor and its has vtec and i wont haveta do much to put it in )
b18c1 (jspec) - 180 hp and 129 lbs of tourque (nice motor but haveta do more work and vtec and should put me around mid 14s.)
b18b (jspec) - 152 hp and 137 lbs of tourque ( Non-vtec, cheap, and nice compression for turbo )
tell me which motor you guys think i should go with. I would try to do a h22 swap but too much work and i hear a lot of them run like a peice of shit and a lot of banging around.
thanks

As for motors how much $$$ are you working with? I have a B16A JSPEC 160 hp. I paid 3260 for everything.Motor,Tranny, ECU, Shiftlinkage,Motor Mounts & custom intake. I've had mine since Nov. That's what I would recommend. You can hit mid 14's with that. Remember we have light cars. B18B all motor will problably be high 15's or low 16's. B18'c go for around $3400 not including labor unless do it yourself. Go all motor, much more respect when you win. Good luck with choice.
