I have never heard of a short shifter that can damage a trans. I use the skunk2 shifter. Works excellent.

Because you can shift faster they work the syncros harder.

The faster shifting action and increased force is going to wear the trans faster, but not so fast that you'll ever notice a difference.

The main problem with short shifters is catching the wrong gear. If you shift into second when you ment to go to fourth, you'll have a big mess to deal with. It's unlikely, but it is possible.

just dont wast ur money on an ebay cheepo APC shifter.. i installed one in a guys g3 integra, and i had heard of them breaking but never really believed it till i took it for the first drive, 1st - 2nd shift, SNAP!!! NO WAY!!! i was crackin up harrrd. i was almost crying i was laugin so hard. i looked like the shifter was filled with packed sand! it was stupid. it snapped right under the threds for the knob. i think he still drives it... its just a shorter short shifter... what ever...

just get sumthin good like B&M or Neuspeed, Skunk2 etc.. they make drivin alot more fun!!
