Default FREE - Civic for parts

Note: I have cross-posted this in the vehicle classifieds & parts classifieds. Will also be posting on any other Civic/Honda forums I can find. This is a one-time post & I just want to get this done with a.s.a.p.

My family has a 1981 Civic wagon which has been dead for 10+ years. We live in a rural area, of the far south suburbs of Chicago so it's been sitting on our property. We can not find the title so can't even sell it for scrap value, but figure if someone here wants to come take any useful parts off it, they are welcome to do so. I already tried to give it away through Freecycle & got no takers. Someone did write & suggest posting it on various Honda & Civic forums.

The car is silver. It is rusty. I sold it for parts on eBay about a year ago, and the winners came & pulled the engine & 5-sp trans out in about 2 hours. Not needing the engine they tossed it back in the bay, so it is already loose & unconnected. To access it more easily, they just cut the front of the car apart, so there is no way that this car could ever be fixed to run again.

But there are seats, window glass, gauges, etc, that you may find useful. The only parts NOT for taking are the BMW sourced alloy wheels, which I want to keep.

If you live in Northern IL or IN, southeast WI, or southwest MI, contact me with questions. No mechanics here, so we will not take the car apart & send the pieces to you unless you want to offer a whole bunch of money for us to do it. Come get the parts yourself for free.

When the car is picked apart, hopefully within a few weeks, if someone wants to take what's left, they're welcome to it. That or we'll give it to a local junkyard that will take cars w/o titles.

Thank you,

Mike Margraf

I don't think you are going to get many takers.
I'd just take it to a junkyard.

If I was local, I'd take care of it... but I'm not.
