will the fender work
I got in an accident a couple days ago with my 89 rex si in which my fender got a little banged up. Im lookin to replace it, but if i go with 90-91 fender what else will i have to replace? And will an 88-89 civic fender work on it to?
The civic fender will not work but i am sure there are a couple duma$$e$ on here that will say have you tried it. If you want to waste your time and money trying go ahead.
A 88-89 fender will work but the side parking light has different mounting hardware, the 90-91 is a slide type and the 88-89 is screwed in.

I wanna say NO but I am not entirely sure on this cause like anything else you can pretty much make it work ...lol... Here is my thing.... If you have the money and time to waste you can make almost anything fit; Now the question is do you really wanna do it???? lol I am just going to go ahead and say not totally sure and I am pretty sure others on here will have better input on this than I....PEACE!!!
My own personal experience... If u change the fender, you will need to change the corner light, and either rig the head light, change the bracket on the head light, or swap out the whole head light/bracket with an 90-91... See on a 88-89, the side light screws in on the sides, this is obvious, what you dont see, is that it slides in on the head light as well... Well on the 90-91s, it screws in one screw on the headlight, and slides in on the fender... I know this, because I accidentally bought 88-89 head lights, and had to swap the brackets...
IMO, if u dont have all 3 parts, head light, fender, corner light, its not worth it... And even if u do, half your car would be the updated style, and the other the 88-89 style... So if u can get both sides, do it, if not, Id just find a 88-89 fender...
Tho, I suppose, if u get the fender, u can probably just screw into the fender where your screws go... It might work... But still iffy, and I personally wouldnt do it...
My damn after market corner light flew off the other day @ 80 on the hwy... Not a fun experience... Luckily the wires held onto it while I could pull over and pop it back in... When I was installing them, I broke off the peice that screws in on the head lights and just glued it back into place... Obviously not very well tho... Moral of the story, OEM pwns all!
