No, unless you know what you are doing never mix and match ECU's with different motors.
You need a PW0 ECU if I am not mistaken if you are planning on getting the B16a out of the EF8/EF9.
If you buy a complete changeover, which is the smartest option unless you want to hunt down a million little parts, you will get the ECU with it.

i had a pr3 in there and it would run for about 5 mins then all the sudden would just die and when i put the pm6 in it ran and never has died but it is throwing a code 20 which is electronic load detector. so that is why i was asking about the pm6 ecu and if it would work. Thanks

The motor will not run right and VTEC will not work. The D16A6 is a completely different engine.

EF is the chasis code for the 4th gen civic and second gen CRX in Japan, the 8 indicates a CR-X SiR, which is the top of the line model, power windows, leather interior, glass top (some of them), b16a engine (160HP), different front end, ect... Just a better over all car, as far as options go, and the EF9 is just the Civic hatch version of the EF8...

Hell, even the JDM Si's (EF7) got alot more options than we did in ours... The DOHC ZC engine for starters... But we get stuck with the crappy SOHC 108HP version of the ZC...

The seats were half leather/half cloth.

Yeah, we do get robbed of having the good cars from Japan. The only thing I wasn't aware of was the SiR's came leather seats. Also didn't the SiR's come rear disk & their front suspention was stiffer than the US models. gingas

I think stiffer all around and they had bigger brakes all around and optional ABS among other things we didn't get.

Why do you write "gingas" after every post? We know its you.
