Default si tranyn on zc motor

will the tranny of my 87 crx si bolt up to a zc motor? are all si tranny's the same?

no, transmission will not bolt to ZC - 85 Si transmissions have different gearing than 86-87 - 88-91 Si transmissions are completely different from 85-87 - 92 & up Si is also different from the earlier ones

y does the gearing matter? shouldnt it just be the bolt pattern? and then a flywheel and clutch?

Tranny's are way more complicated than that from my understanding. Of course that's not to say that I understand transmissions. I'll prolly never fully understand em.

i dont know bout the pre 88 models but the 88-91 trannys are all interchangable. and for the clutch you need to check out the flywheel on the zc or something, i dont know.

o and im gettin the zc motor and ecu. will i need a new wiring harness as well?

It will work on the engine, but it won't work in your car.

I hope you mean an 84-87 browntop ZC. Typical 88-91 blacktop ZC's are not bolt-in swaps.

wat trannys will bolt up and work with the zc motor? regardless of wat car it is going into.
