For what the effort may be worth-take a look at ADDCO. They have a very nice series of bars available. Summit offers them and you can also buy direct. The company has been in business since the early 70's, btw.
I only have their rear bar on the CRX and it does make a difference. You may not want to put one on the front-stay stock for now. Got q's--drop me an e-mail.

what are the advantages of leaving the stock bar on the front and not upgrading it?

The car will handle better, if you upgrade both bars you wont notice too much difference. I put a TL Type S rear sway bar on my Accord which is 19mm compared to 16mm for the stock one and I think thats one of the best mods I did for my car, To me it makes a big difference.

It depends on what you are doing with the car. If your into auto crossing then it would be ideal to get all types of suspension reinforcements but if you are just an occasional track guy and have a daily driver then to me its a waste of money.
