Default need an engine.help

i got a crx si a few days ago n have plans on swappin a motor in.. i plan on turboing whtaever it is but i want to keep the price down, so i was thinking homemade turbo on either an z6/y8, d15b (vti), or take the ls outta my hatch n turbo it when i sell it. more likely is the d series. i hear the d15b is better than the z6 and y8...more hp and higher reving? is this true?.... either that or ima get a dohc zc n turbo that...but i only wanna spend around 600 for a motor. also could i attach my SI tranny to the d15b or ex motor????

You can use your trans on any 88+ D-series, except those new backwards-spinning D17's... well, you can probably use it on those too, except you'd have 5 reverse speeds and one really short forward gear. :chuckles:

The D15B is rated higher, but if you put it on a dyno I doubt it would produce more power then a Z6 or Y8. They have a similar redline.

When you turbo, you want the highest displacement you can get. That's not something the D15B has to offer.

What's wrong with the D16A6 already in it?
