Default b16 running problems

i swap a b16 in my 88 crx hf and i am having a problem with it running right. It starts up and runs like crap and after you give it the gas alittle bit it will idle fine and then when you give it the gas it will rev up and about 3 grand it will cut out and go back down to idle and then it might go to 4 grand and cut out, and sometimes when you first start it and let it run for a little bit and give it the gas it will go to between 2-4 grand and then just die. Just wanting to know if anybody knows what problem i am having.

Are you throwing any engine codes?

My dads 98 ford taurus would not stay cranked. It was the idle air control valve. It may be called something different on Hondas. Possibly the idle control solenoid valve or the electronic air control valve (eacv). Mine had or has the same problem on my 91 crx si with the stock motor. I just took it off, sprayed it with wd-40, moved it around, and noticed a difference. It runs better now, but is still messed up. It really needs replacing. I could possibly find it in a junk yard for cheap. These are fairly expensive parts. Not saying this is your problem, but maybe.

i took it off and put another that i had off a running motor on it and it did the same thing. i am not sure what it wrong because it isn't throwing any codes. I think it might be my injectors, but unsure.
