Default clutch

I have an 89 CRX DX with the stock 1.5, I have a tranny from a 91 CRX Si. I want to order an Exedy clutch kit for it. Now my question is do I order it for the engine or the tranny? I thought it would be for the tranny, but I was told it bolts to the engine. I never worked on a tranny before, and nobody I know can give me a straight answer.

you have to order the clutch for the transmission. the best rule to go by is, buy 91 parts for a 91 trans, 88 parts for 88 trans, etc...

oh and yes, that transmission will bolt right up, as long as you have a DX or SI. if you have a HF, you will need to buy new axles cuz the spline count is different on the HF.....
