Boost your d16a6 and rebuilt your z6 on the side for it to be a built motor that with boost will have more horsepower than a b16.

There is no such thing as a B16A1.

At that, no B16A will bolt into an American 88-91. It's not even close, you need an expensive aftermarket mount kit.

If I where you, I'd sell the D16Z6 and save the money for a B18A1 or better. I'm not a big B16A fan myself.

If you google B16A1 you get about 2100 results. Are you sure about that Kai? I thought the B16A1 was a JDM engine used in the SiR models.

What is better about the B18? The junkyard I go to has like 5 of them. What are they worth?

Absolutely. It's a misnomer spread by those who don't know any better.

B16A: All first and second generation B16A's.
B16A2: OBD2 del Sol VTEC, 99-00 Civic Si
B16A3: OBD1 del Sol VTEC

It's odd that they skipped the A1, but they did... at least in the home and US markets.

Modern home market engines never end in a number. For some reason importers started calling the first gen "A1" and the second gen "A2," however if you look at the blocks they all simply say "B16A."

I've only seen a picture of a B16A1 stamp, but don't know if it's real or chopped. It may be a euro market engine, who knows.

Higher displacement. They are valued similar to B16A swaps, but you can usually get them cheaper.

b18's are good torque wise than a b16 is. b18 for boost has more hp and more torque while a b16 boosted has more hp some torque.
