Default crx hf 3k?

i came across a 91 crx hf with a b18a1. it has a blaster ignition coil, no name brand header. no intake what so ever. it does not have a cam cover on it. one cam looks to be the stock cam, the other however is an aem adjustable cam. the battery is relocated to the trunk. the body is in decent shape. its has no rust a few dings but nothing major, althought the rear bumper is kind of hanging off and it is missing some side molding. it has a set of 16 inch rims and 205/40 tires with decent tread life left. as for the interitor, the seats a decent, with a little wear on the driver side seat. there is no a/c or cd player in it. it has three misc. togel switches that im assuming were hooked up to some neons or some other ricer crap. it is missing the cargo cover. the owner wants 3000 for it. i dont think its worth it, but i wanted to know what you guys thought. i live in a small town in ky and there isnt a huge market for this kinda of car. oh just so you all know i already own an stock 88 crx dx that i had planned on swappin a b18a1 into. any advice or comments are welcome. thanks.

:werd: Sounds kinda high for stuff missing and broken...even with the swap. Who knows what kind of condition the engine is really in. Squeeze the greed out of the guy.

well i went down there today to check it out a lil bit more. the guy will not take anything less than 2500. i figured while i was there i should at least test drive it see how it ran. they handed me the key and i tried to start it up, but the battery was dead. so they get the jumper cables and try to start it again by spraying starter fulid in the intake mani (thats why there wasnt an intake on the car, beacause apparently theyve had to do this before) the engine would turn over but it would die right after. so im guessing that it has some sort of fuel problem. the gas gauge said it had half a tank. the lil bit of time that i heard the car, it sounded really good. but considering that its really not even running and there is hardly any market for that kinda of car in this area hes deffinately not going to get 2500 for the car. unless of course they find some ricer to buy it because the guy is claiming that it has a "fast and furious motor" in it. but the car lot is right next to my work so ill keep an eye on it and if it hasnt sold in a while i will got back and see if he will lower his price.

well i already have a 88 dx...its in fairly good condition. im just dont really wanting to do the mpfi swap to get things started. im not real confident in my wire and electrical skills. and its pretty hard to find crx's in this area, especially ones in good condition.

from the description it looks like they didn't do the swap right and you might have wiring problems anyway...skip it especially when they want $2500 for something that doesn't run

No cam cover, or no cam gear/timing belt cover? Big difference.

I'd offer about $1000-$1500. That guy wants too much.

Oh brother...did he really tell you that? Either he thinks your a moron or his only reference for tuned imports is 'the movie', doesn't know jack about the import scene and he thinks your a moron. I hope your not a moron. If the car is really worth the time and effort for you then yeah keep your eye on it and get a better price.
