USDM speaking, yes. JDM cars had a optional rear seat that some people buy and install in their UDSM CRXs.

My understanding is the rear seat option had never been crash tested in the US so that's why you don't see them here stock. If you install one, JDM or EDM, into your USDM CRX...beware. Many police officers may not know you shouldn't have one installed if they see it and may not give it a second thought. Keep in mind though if you have someone in the back and you get into an accident you'll become very aquainted with the courtroom. Nuff said on that note.

i have a JDM rear seat for mine (not yet installed) but i will prolly never have anyone in it, i just like the look of it i think if installed properly it would be ok, but i don't want to risk it. its mostly gonna be a show car anyways, and i hardly EVER have more than one passenger if i have any passengers at all, so it shouldn't be an issue for me.

I'm pretty sure that is was crash tested, but failed. It's the same story as the first generation RX-7, rear seats where only availible overseas thanks to our government.
