Default Alternator????????

Ok here it goes... Today on my lunch break at work my car started to make this high pitch squeal...So when I got back to work I went ahead and tightened my alternator by unscrewing it and pushing the alternator back with a crow bar and then screwing it back in....It worked fine cause I had this happen to me when I first got my car about 6 months ago. Well on the way home from work it started to do it again so I was like ok well I will just tighten it again in the morning cause maybe I did not tighten or pushed it back far enough. But then my battery light came on and I was oh damn it. I had just replaced the battery like 1 month ago. So when I finally got home I went ahead and checked the battery to see if it might slipped off a little but it was on there nice and snug. So I got back into my car and started it right quick and reved it a few times and it was doing fine for like 5 minutes then it, I guess tried to die on me, but it didn't and my battery light was still on but whenever I reved it, the battery light went off so I was like the hell. I can't figure it out but I am guessing either the alternator or the battery connectors.

I Need Help!!!!!

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Chris

Well I have to inform you that you are wrong....For the simple fact that I did a little trick to see if it was my alternator going out. And it wasn't it was just simple my belt it was old so I replaced it and now its fine. Oh yeah and the trick that I used was to go ahead and start my car and unhook the battery cables from the battery with car running and if it died then my alternator was not holding a charge and if it kept running it was good....And it was good!!!

Thanks for the advice anyways!!!!

lol next time you have a slipping belt, and you dont know the age of the belt, pull it off and flip it inside out and if you see a bunch of cracks in the belt , or it just looks worn, replace it, they are cheap anyways
