Default Clutch Slipping, Help!!!!

signs of the problem:
1. my car shakes like crazy when i'm trying to find the engagement point of the clutch and accelerator. (going into first gear)

2. when it is ingear and i gas it just a little bit, rpms are high but i'm not going anywhere.

3. all torque is lost. I'm going up a hill and i can barely make it up. i don't have a tach, but i'm guessing that rpms are at about 4 to 5 thousand and i'm only going about 10mph.

a friend said that the clutch was slipping... is he right? when can i do?

Pull out your tranny and look at the clutch plate. It's probably worn to sh*t. If you do end up pulling out your tranny, you might as well replace your plate and flywheel anyway since it's right there. How many miles are on this vehicle?

i've got about 170,000 on it right now. where can i get a cheap aftermarket clutch plate and fly wheel? kragen maybe? what exactly is a good price for those parts? the car doesn't have much life left so i don't want to invest too much into it, just to working condition.

I would aleast get a Exedy clutch kit you should be able to find one for $90-120 and will come with a TB bearing, pressure plate, and disc and pilot bearing. Now is the time to also replace the main seal and input shaft seal. You may want to spend as little money as possible but doing it right the first time saves labor $$$ down the road.

You can get an Exedy clutch on ebay for really cheap. But then again I don't know how long you can wait for a clutch.

this may sound stupid but have you tried adjusting the clutch it may just be worn to the point of were its adjusted there should be a black blastic/rubber nut about an inch or so around on the passanger side of the motor half way down the engine connected none the less to the clutch cable if thats the case you might lose a little peddel but you will have a full clutch again. and sorry about the spelling been up for 24 just got off work. try this and tell me if it works for you.

i'd check the flywheel and have it turned for safety's sake (that is what the dealer or the shop would do anyway) when you get the clutch done (it could be warped creating the shaking)
