Default exhaust flange question

im leaking exhaust past the flange at the bottom of my dc sports header downpipe, which then connects and goes to the catalyctic converter. its making the exhaust extremely loud and i believe im at a loss of power due to loss of backpressure, anyways is there anything that can be put at the connection to help everything stay together, i know you just tighten the 2 bolts into the lock nuts but is there anything that will help seal the connection better?

well there is a gasket you can replace. i would take out the cat, inspect the gasket first, and check for any other leaks before you buy the gasket tho ($20 dealer item)

is that stuff able to withstand heat, enough for it to work on the header/cat?

i have the same problem. i am not sure about dc sports, but my chikara header doesnt have a flex pipe which puts alot of stress on that header to cat flange. i went to the exhaust shop, and they put some new bolts and stuff on that flange, and it sort of made it better, but i may have to have them weld in a flex pipe. if you have a flex pipe than disregard this. hope it helps.

you bet it can,my friend had a friggen whole on his scirocco exhaust manifold
in the same spot were you guys do and it was pretty big,id say the crack was through out all the bolt pattern and starting to go down the whole unit.
about 2 bottles later it was fixed.it literally turns to metal.hell that is pretty much the only thing holding it together now.jk ...but seriously go to wallmart and get it you will see how it works.
