Default Warning Lights.

Okay, here is the deal. I don't remember if it was the same way when I first purchased my Civic two years ago, but the problem remains. When I turn my key to the idle position, just before turning it over all the warning lights come on, then turn off, with the exception of two. The oil light and the battery light. I recently did an oil change, and my battery is brand new. Any thoughts, or is this normal?

this would be normal - without the engine running, it has no oil pressure to turn the switch off, so the light stays on - likewise, the alternator - without it runnung, it is not charging, light stays on - the others come on when you turn the switch on to show you that they are working

The oil light could be from a bad sender or an electrical short, if you're lucky.

My guess on the battery light would be a toasted alternator.
