Default Name the problem, vid clip w/sound inside need help

Ok, so after a whole week finaly replaced my broken a6 with a new a6. Well, a 70k a6. First time engine swapping you could say (helped with a ford but that doesn't count).
Anyway, everything is all hooked up, ready to go...But no start. Turns over and pops... The popping noise I have been told is more of the compression going back through the intake mani. Sounds like it's not firing.

here's the NEW vid-sound clip... http://www.ctel.net/~wilfredb/MOV00054.mpg
It's a very dark video, not much lighting I guess, but you can hear the sound. It is turning over, the timing belt is a tiny bit loose. It sounds like the starter is working ok, just not firing at all?

So you got any ideas? I want my car back it's been down since Dec 14th (getting hit by a car while driving a snowmobile didn't help me for a month or so either..)

Thanks in advance!

does it have a completely stock valvetrain? sounds like compressed air is being blown out the exhaust. but i guess thats the exhaust leak.

do you know if youre getting any spark? you may want to test it.

Valvetrain is all new...

Delta 272 cam
1mm oversize valves
dual valvesprings
3 angle port
head milled 40 thousandths

Before I was told the compressed air was being blown back through the intake, which would make sense since I could smell fuel like crazy from the intake side but nothing through the other side.
I re-did the timing, it sounds a little better, but kinda like there's no spark. I think the dizzy might be upside down (since it can go on two ways) so I'm going to rotate that and re-do my timing again today since I think when I was having trouble getting the tensonier tightened it slipped and is off again.

New clip is posted at the first post. Old one doesn't exist anymore

well, this kid that i know had a b16[i think:thinking:] in a crx and he did some valvetrain work by himself, and it ended up sounding just like that. after some trouble-shooting, we found that his valve timing was 180 degrees off.

are you sure your valves are mounted in there correctly?

Check if you have spark. Always start by checking if you have spark.

My first guess would be stuck dizzy rotor, or the screw that holds it is gone. I've seen 3 engines do that so far so it is something that is very probable.

Good luck!
