Personally...usually any place I go and think to pick up injector cleaner carries "STP" injector cleaner...that is typically what I use...I don't think it matters what you use, just THAT you use it.

I don't bother with that stuff. If anything, use the Techron additive made by Chevron.

I agree. But it doesn't clean your injectors as well as doing a real injector clean which is more than just putting some additive in your tank.

Sea foam is used to decarbonize your engine. It doesn't clean your fuel injectors.

Real injector cleaning is all I do.

I don't see how anyone can believe a little bottle of chemicals, mixed in 13 gallons of gas is going to magically clean their injectors. :chuckles:

That site only lists applications for Diesel and small gas (like weedwacker) engines.

My question is how often to use STP? I have been waiting until I either get some misfire or noticable lack of power/fuel economy. Do you guys have a (reasonable) interval to do it as preventative maintenance?

If you're just adding it into your fuel then it doesn't work well in my opinion, unless if you use it in conjuction with a fuel injector cleaning machine.
