Default Car Shutting Off - ECU Code 16

My car is starting this thing again where while im driving it will shut off without warning (I get ECU Code 16). Even while my car is running fine I am still getting ECU Code 16. It is becoming really frustrating considering the car does not turn on right away. I need to wait like 5-15 minutes. Has anyone had this similar problem and know what needs to be done so I do not need to take it in to a mechanic? By the way I am driving a 91 Civic DX, standard. Would a low battery charge (like 1/2) be a problem? All help will be appreciated.

Thanx

That ECU code says that it's a fuel injector problem. Check for loose connections for the injectors.

Do you have multimeter? If so, you can check for resistance in the injectors and battery voltage at the injector connectors to see if they're getting power. You should read 1.5 to 2.5 ohms on the injectors, if not then you have bad injectors.

Alright thanks. I will check for that, but will the voltage test work if the car is running fine? Because it shut of so randomly, it could do it 3 days in a row or even once a month.

It won't tell you anything if the car is running fine but it'll give you somewhat of an idea of what's not wrong with the car if it isn't the problem. Good luck.

I havent had time to do the multimeter test yet but I would like to let everyone know of some more symptoms. I just got back from going out. As I pulled into my buddys apartment parking lot my car cut out. I was in a rush so I just rolled into a parking spot. I tried to start the car and it wouldnt turn over. So i left it for about 2 hours and went to try it again and still nothing. After about 10 minutes of trying, it finally turned over. Other times where this has happened I can sometimes get it to start right back up.

This problem seems to be so random though, it happend in cold and warm weather, when accelerating, cruising and decelerating, with my stereo on and with it off (thought maybe it was using too much voltage).

Is there any chance it could be the distrib? It was replacesd in the summer with a used one (i thoguht once they went they went). I also got new spark plug and wire.

Any more ideas?

thanx
