Default alternator question...

would you guys recommend buying a brand new alternator or a used one? would an alternator off a crx si fit on a crx hf? Would any crx alternator work? do i just have to watch the year or the model? let me know.

I'd get a brand "new" remanfactured alternator just in case the used one has blown diodes or a bad voltage regulator. I'm pretty sure the crx use the same alternators but don't take my word for it. The only difference is probably the amperage output. Someone else can confirm if the alternators mount in the same position and stuff.

Yeah... I was going to say go to Autozone and get a new one... $80 ($55 core charge, so take your old one with you if you can) and they come with a life time warranty. Can't beat it. This is assuming that you don't need a high power one for stereo or whatever

yeah.id say go more with the "new" one...u could always pick up a used 1 and then it could die out rather quicker then u expect
