Ok guys (and girls)... talk me out of something...

A friend of mine is trying to get me to trade my '89 Civic in on a '74 Datsun 260Z (low miles, one owner, good condition)... It could be a fun car, but...

someone... please talk some sense in to me!

shit, i'd probably trade if it's in good shape. depends on what you've put into your civic and what your plans are.

 

ok dude, here's some very easy math...

1974 SMOG EXEMPT 260Z + mildly built 350 chevy small block = sleeper from hell

the 260Z build will cost less than dumping a B18 or B16 into your civic, it's smog exempt, and it'll be a helluva lot more fun, quite frankly. I'd say go for the Z.

 

I'd love to trade an '89 Civic (or two ) for a Datsun Z.

I'd leave the inline 6 in the car. How can a sports car be a sleeper anyway?
Put a V8 in an old diesel Mercedes if you want a sleeper.

I guess I should point out at this point that in my origional post I said "trade my '89 Civic in on"... this isn't quite an even trade...

I'm going to look at it tomorrow, maybe I'll snap a few pictures and post 'em....
