I just put an air intake on my car (d15b1) and it was off an integra or something...I got it for $30...it wouldn't fit around my battery so what I did was cut the tube and took out the stock filter box etc., and put this in there using the stock tube into the manifold. So now the "cone" is sitting where the stock filter box was. It works fine...the problem is every time I step on the gas to 'go'...I am getting this "squeal"...what did I do wrong?? What's the problem?

It doesn't do it all the time...mostly in third gear...it sounds like a loose belt type of squeal...could it just be the cone? Or would it be the tube? or both? It only happens when I come on to the pedal...
well, i dont know a whole lot about cars, but i know that its supposed to whistle when you step on the gas because you're sucking more air in. might just be a cheap intake, im not sure
i have the same thing on my car right now, stock tube with performance filter right? Mine squeels too...it has to do with the tube. like if you had a aftermarket one it would sound different.
