DO NOT GET THE $300 AMBASSADOR PAINT JOB FROM MAACO. Trust me. The paint that they use will fall off in less than 3 months. I had my car painted there last September and it didn't last halfway thru winter. I just wanted a cheap job to last me thru the summer, but that was too cheap.

a good quality paint job should cost around $3,000 plus materials, i just recently got my ride custom painted for about 1500 plus $1300 for materials, and it looks like ****, so when it comes to paint, take your time to save up, and pay to have it donr RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, and make sure the shop uses the best possible materials (thats why mine is so schitty )(especially since you want it painted BLACK) and make sure they take their time, if they rush it, its gonna look like schit, and check up on it every day, or every other day to see how its coming along, and if you dont like something, tell them to stop and do it again.

research alot of shops and if you see someone on the street with a nice paintjob ask them where thry got it. Alot places can paint well but use ****ty paint and are worried about time so they paint quick and uneven. Make sure they mask off properly, some places just mask off windows and taillights leaving trim and and rubber seals exposed which will look good at first but after a few washes starts to peal off. If your lucky you will be able to bring your own paint and you'll end up with a sweet looking black good gloss and shine. I would expect to pay at least a thousand for good and up to 3000 for a perfect job. You will be able to save a bit if you can do any bodywork yourself or find a friend that can get it in ready to paint shape.

You could easily get a good job for $2000.

Maaco does that Laquor Thinner **** where they don't clean the car they spray it with Laquor Thinner and then spray it. Looks good for like 4 months then goes to ****.

As long as the plastic is properly prepped it will be fine.
