Default Vigor Radio Code

My father has an older Vigor he bought used. It did not come with the owner's manual. He stored it this winter and pulled the battery. His radio is now asking for a code (which he has), but does not know how to go about entering it. He has tried pushing a lot of buttons without success. Does anyone know what the sequence is? Should the ignition be on or off, etc. Thanks.

Try this site.

I'll look it up on my owners manual later tonight and post it here .

being you have the code (should be 5 digits) all you have to do is turn the radio on, it'll ask for the code... just use the front panel 1-6 buttons to enter the code in order... then the radio will switch on and you'll be all set. If you screw up, you'll have to disconnect the battery again for a few minutes to reset the radio.

OK. I tell him to try it again. I'm guessing he did it wrong the first time so all the subsequent tries failed because he didn't unhook the battery again. I'll let you know if he figures it out (if he would just keep one car instead of buying a different one every year he would know how to operate them )
Thanks.

According to manual , Start car or turn key to on,
and enter code on radio, FYI this is a very common problem with the Vigor factory radios the Display does not allways light up,
It could be his Radio Display is shot (this happened to mine) and I could not see what I was doing .My radio worked ,but I could not see what radio station it was on,
I finaly changed out the radio to an aftermarket one.
Another thing to be aware of , is the Factory Alarm system is sometimes very difficult to disarm. Specialy if its key in door system. But thats a hole different subject.

Thanks Lajes. Even though he is an engineer and has designed parts on just about every car with a steering wheel, he's the type of guy that STILL can't program a VCR. I'll let him know.

I've never had this problem. Unless he had the expensive trunk mounted disc changer, he should have just gotten an aftermarket CD Changer.
