I'd like to replace the stereo in my 2001 TL. Are there any instructions available on how to remove it?

thanks,
Et

Id like to ask Kindly why you want to do this? The best thing to do is keep factory headunit and hookup JLs new Cleansweep read up on it you will like it. But if you must do not use flat head screwdriver to pry anything unless you know how to pry without scratching or denting anything... http://www.metraonline.com/downloads...NST99-7868.pdf

I am getting a static noise from the sub-woofer. I replaced it, but it is still making the same noise. No matter what the volume level of the stereo is, the noise still comes out of the sub at the same level. I disconnected the leads to the sub and the noise stops. So I figure the factory unit must be going bad. Have you heard of this problem with anyone else?

Thanks,

Et

I am guessing you are using your rear speaker level inputs as leads?

If so yes this can happen. What kind of line output converter are you using or does your amp have speaker level inputs? Quality makes a difference and also how it is installed.

If not and you are using preamp outputs some how then you should make sure the wires are not near any power cables. For example if you have a power cable coming from the battery and a preamp output wire next to it the power cable will make your subs have a static sound.
