97 Acura CL V-6
Okay, I'm new to this so here goes...I have had this car for about 4 months now. No problems until today. Was stopped at a light, and it seemed the engine kinda sputtered, the speed and tach gauges went up and down, and the car just shut off. However, I was able to turn it right back on and drive a few miles home. Any ideas or anyone else have this happen??

It sounds to me like it is the ignition switch. There is a recall for this. I had a similar issue w/ my 97 Accord a year ago. Call the Acura dealer w/ your VIN and they should be able to confirm my thoughts. Hope this helps!
BTW I too have a 97 3.0 V6 - manufactured in 96... Just bought it 6 weeks ago. Love it so far

hi, I have a 97 3.0CL, 98 Accord V6 and 04 Accord V6... great motors, some insights with combined 300k miles between them... problem with surging of engine on both 98's was like you revved between 1000 and about 2600 rpm? Happened sporadically at first then maybe two or three days, it remained constant...
thought it was one of the oxygen sensors, replaced them, engine lights went out, but surging continued... try replacing your MAP sensor, don't go to Acura, they want you to purchase an entire throttle body assy for $900 or so... NAPA... two screws (no pun intended), pull the plug and replay... solved my problems. net cost was about $60 if I recall. Hope that helps!
