Default Headlamp on 99 Acura 3.2 TL

How do I change the low beam headlamp (passenger side) on my wife's
99 Acura 3.2 TL? The high beam is shown in the owners manual, but nothing is mentioned about the low beam.

Hi - I am in the same boat as you but with a 2000 TL. The owners manual suggests having an Acura dealer replace the bulb. Could you please forward any info you find to me. Thank you and good luck.

Default Headlamp change

I called my local Acura dealer to discuss. They said the bumper had to come off, as well as any other surrounding parts that block access. The cost of the headlamp was from the dealer is $153, plus labor of $45 (apparently a 30 minute job), plus tax. I know the headlights are lot cheaper at the parts store, but I do not know if I have the proper tools (or know how) to get to access to the headlight.
I may take mine to a local shop that works on imports. Surely they are cheaper than the Acura dealer.
I don't think I helped you much.

The procedure should be very similar to that of the high beam, assuming you do not have xenon headlights.

If they are xenon bulbs, you can purchase just the bulb for under $100 a pair and the install is very straightforward.

I do have the xenon headlights. I have looked at it, but did not see it being that easy, especially since the owners manual did not mention it at all. Any suggestions?

Hi bdhen, any luck? It does not look easy at all. It looks like I'll need to take out the battery, air filter assembly and who knows what else to get the driver side bulb out.
Nelson - PLEASE tell me where I can get a pair of xenon bulbs for a $100? I've called a lot of places and I can't even get one for a $100.

Thanks in advance.

I have not had any luck. I may just take mine to a local garage. I will keep you posted.

Update
I took my 99 Acura to a local shop who works strictly on import cars. They recommended replacing both lights since the xenon lights start to "yellow" over time. So, for 2 lights ($123 each), labor and taxes, $370. They did not have to remove the bumper, but according to the mechanic, they took every else out to get to the headlamps.

Will someone be sure the thank the engineers at Acura for me for such a wonderful design!
