Default acura tl gear shift stuck occasionally

hey all, i own a 2006 acura tl and recently (about a week and a half ago) i spilled some sprite around the gear shift area. At first i just cleaned it with a napkin and didn't have a problem switching gears until about 4-5 days ago. Sometimes when i start to shift gears from P to whatever gear i want to go in, the gear shaft gets stuck and i can't move it unless i put a wet paper towel around it and let it sort of soak in, then once it starts moving it is no problem while i drive, but once i park and do whatever and come back it becomes stuck again. i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how i could fix this problem.

thanks,
Ben

You probably need to take the whole center piece out and do a good cleaning. My guess is dried-up soda.
