When I shift into drive the d4 light does not go on. It drives ok but doesn't feel like it shifts into 4th gear. If I shift down to 2nd gear then back up to 4th gear the d4 light goes on and it shifts smoothly through all gears.
The transmission feels OK. Is this a computer problem?

 

It might be a computer problem. But check out that ECT/TW sensor (from your 93 Vigor Drive 4 Blinking post) first. Fixing that may fix this problem at the same time.
