I know I probably am not the first to post about the reliability of the 2nd generation Acura TL. I love the car to death but I am depressed after my transmission took a dump on me. I hope my censors didn't go out on me too. The check engine light came on and my car is idling bad.

I would like to know any advice on the best way to proceed with this issue. I am new to the forums and I hate that my first post has to be a request like this. Is it possible that I can put a different tranny in? Say perhaps an RL or MDX tranny? If I was to look for a junk part, how would I know that it has not been through the same as my current one.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Is it a TL transmission that is out of warranty?

If you find out what the check engine light is on for, you will probably find some better help on here for that problem.
