Default Acura CL

Hello,

We just purchased a 1997 Acura CL and the remote doesn't open the trunk - we can open with the latch opener located on the floor of the car.

When we push the button on the remote nothing happens - the remote does work for the door locks though.

Can the button on the remote be bad for the trunk?

Is there a fuse for the remote trunk latch?

or could it be the remote brain for the trunk in the car?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Check ALL of your fuses.

I used to have 2 remotes and one of them did not work on trunk. So I know there is nothing wrong with the car. One used remote on ebay can be as cheap as less than 20 bucks and that was my solution. Good luck!

Do you hold down the button for a bit or just push it? With mine, you have to hold the button down for say 3 or 4 seconds before it pops open
