CD error messages

CD error messages
For the last few months, my 03 CLS CD has been intermittently flashing Er E 1 and refusing to eject the CD. A couple days later it works fine for a few days - - now persistently flashing and retaining the CD. Anyone know an easy fix? The dealer said go to a car radio shop.

Isn't your car under warranty still? If it is, tell the dealer to either fix it for you or replace it with a new unit.

CD Error Messages
I'm over 50K miles. I did call the dealer who said they wouldn't work on it but would sub it to a local radio guy. So I guess there's no easy resetting or anything like that. Of course, today it's working again.
