Default wtb :97-2000 acura CL's some advice??info??feedback?

HI everyone im new to this site and i need some good solid honda/acura advice and info.ive recently been looking at 97-2000 acura cl coupes.the 2.2 cl, 2.3 cl, and the 3.0 cl.beautiful cars, ive read some good things a few recalls for the ignition switch and ball joints.but i mean they come with vtec engines and made by honda.so i know its a good reliable and outstanding car. they got 29 mpg, which is a big plus for a luxury car to me.my question is does anyone have kind of like some advice on these cars if i do purchase one, just some helpful info, experiences ,etc.if anyone can convince to buy or not to buy this model car its gonna be the people who have owned them b4.thanxxx againnn

hey hows it goin, i bought a 01 3.2 Cl-S a few months ago and its a beautiful ride, the only drawback was the 19 mpg and the need for premium gas burns a hole in my pocket really quickly. its got a nice pick-up, the interior is spacious and comfortable. all around id say its a great car. definatly a good buy.

You mean the '97-'99 Acura CL, right.

I've dealt with a lot of them and they are pretty reliable. Check the tranny on the 3.0CL if you look at one since I've seen some random problems with those.

ya guys my apologies.i meant 97-99,i really like them, cus im a honda guy all the way.and hondas arent as luxury as id like.i would go for a 3.0 but would rather get the 2.2 liter or the 2.3 liter.just cus of the gas mileage.the 01's and up are out of my price range even tho their really gorgeous cars.the 01's get 19 mpg??thats gotta be city driving.cus the 97-99 2.2 and 2.3 liter engines get 30 mpg highway.which is what ill get in pennsylvania.thanx guys id love some more feedback,it helps alot when im looking to buy them

If you plan on going with a 2.2 or 2.3, then you might as well look for one with a manual tranny. It will be more reliable and give you better gas mileage in the long run.

honda/acura auto trannies are not as strong compared to the manuals. as for the 2.2/2.3 goes, look into a MT. i personally wouldnt buy a 3.0 coz of the auto tranny plague:no: .....either way, hope ur happy with whatever u find:thumbup:

Try and get a manual 3.0. I love my 3.0. I dont care that its known for tranny issues. Just slap a tranny cooler in there and hope for the best. I get good mileage on it even though its a v6.

yeah the 3.0 is strictly an automatic but its still a strong motor, i'm experiencing some tranny problems in my '99 model, as is commonly the case with the car,(hesitant and slightly jerking downshifts from time to time). go with the f22 or f23 w/ a manual tranny...
