Buying pre-owned TL advice
Hello,
I need advise please. I was going to buy pre-owned 2003 TL type-S with 43K Mi on it. I read so many complain all over the net regarding transmission issues. Based on the VIN number this particular TL does not have transmission covered for 7 years/100K Mi warranty extension and that’s why I am worry about my future purchase. This TL was built late in 2002.
I called Acura 800 number and they confirmed that this car does not have warranty extension on transmission but also told me that transmission was already replaced in 2004.
I have a couple of friend with TLs and they never heard about transmission problems with their cars. What should I do? Should I take a chance or look for something else besides Honda/Acura.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

PS. By the way the way this 03 TL type-S will cost me 16K even plus tax and registration. Is this a good deal?

Buying any Used car, you are going to take a chance. I personally do not know anyone that had a tranny problem with their TL/CL.
