Default 98 3.2 TL o2 sensor

Hi, new to Acura's and new to this forum. Couldn't come up with an answer in the archives.

I have recently replaced all 3 o2 sensors on my car in an effort to get the check engine light off. I am still kicking a code: Oxygen sensor heater circuit bad, bank 1 sensor 2.

Anyone know how to know which o2 sensor that is?

I am also getting a code for the EGR, says the EGR flow is insuffecient. I cleaned the EGR and I am hoping that will help. Any tricks there?

179K on the clock... car runs great!

TIA
Greg

I am not 100% sure, but you probably need to re-set a computer after you've changed o2 sensors. Try to disconect a battery for a cople of hours, it might help.

Yes. If you have not reset the ECU when you have replaced them, the cel will still remain. Just take off the negitive terminal of your battery for 20 seconds and your good.

If you did this and the cel came on again, you might have damaged it during install. They are pretty delicate.

Yeah, a orignal, clogged EGR valve is not unheard of at 180k. Clean it and reset the ecu as noted above.

Re-set the computer, code is still there.

Oxygen sensor heater circuit bad, bank 1 sensor 2.
Still wondering which o2 sensor that is?

Anyone have a step by step on the EGR recall? I saw the recall, but my car has too many miles for the dealer to do the service for me.

Sensor 2 is usually the one further down your exhaust system. Typically right in or after the cat. #1 is at the header.

Ok. Sounds like you damaged it during install or wired it incorrectly. Do you have a helms manual that you are working from? Did you follow the new 02 sensor wiring schematic and/or compare it to the factory wiring?

I believe the EGR recall was just a replacement. This is pretty easy. I would just get the replacment, and swap it out. This of course is just preventitive matience, not your issue.

sesor 2 is after the catyletic converter also known as the down stream 02 sesor if it is not damaged and it is wirred correctly ( thats why I like to use factory parts) then you probably have a small vaccum leak causing the computer to think the car is running lean.
