Default Bridgestone Turanzas on my 05 TL

Hello All,
I'm new to this forum with an new 05 TL six speed. What a great car - except on the highway. My car has only 1400 miles, most of which are around town. On the highway above 60mph I had some steering wheel vibration so I had the dealer rebalance the tires. The only one that was out was a front wheel that now has 16 balance weights on it.
Now my car shakes over 60 - that's annoying cus I want to drive 75. The car like makes your teeth chatter & sort of makes you sick to your stomach. The dealer says the shake doesn't exist.

I'm going to drive the service manager out on the highway tomorrow. I expect him to try and put me off. Any similar experiences out there? I haven't tried a Bridgestone dealer yet... Any suggestions? I hate to throw in the towel and spend $1000 on new tires after only 6 weeks.

Thanks,
Mark

It should not take 16 balance weights to balance a tire. The service department does not know what they are doing. It might be a bad wheel or tire. You should definitely find it if it is the wheel or tire first because if it is the wheel, then getting new tires won't fix the problem.

The service dept will recommend rotating the tires to get rid of the problem as a temporary bandaid, on your next rotation due it will come back. I am currently having bad experience with my acura dealership in Ottawa, Canada. Don't give up, be persistent. Both tire and wheel have warranty, make them start with replacing the tire. Good luck.

Default Rotation stopped the shakes

Over the weekend I rotated the "16 wheel weight" tire to the rear and the front end shaking stopped. The rear then seemed to give kind of like a pogo stick ride. I took it back to the dealer and they pulled off the questionable wheel and tire and replaced it from one on a demo car. First impressions are good but I'll know better once I get in on the highway.
I'd hate to be the one to buy that car with the pogo tire.
Or... maybe that's what I did to start with.

Thanks for the comments and advice.

Mark

it's obviously defective.

tell them you want the wheel and tire replaced or you will be personally sending a letter to Honda of america.

there is no reason to have 16 weights on one wheel. there should be at most 2 or 3.

I have a shit load of weights on like 2 of my wife's 05 Odyssey's rims, like 6-8, and like Mark's car, it does vibrate a little over 60 mph... No teeth chattering, but a little annoying....
