Default Stock, Generic, or Performance

I have a 95 3.2TL and my muffler sprung a hole. I have gone to the dealer as well as 2 muffler shops and they all want around $500 to replace it. I found one shop (looks like a dump) who said they can put on a generic muffler for $50 plus labor. Is that going to be okay? He said its guaranteed to work and work well and that he works on lots of Acuras. I also thought about getting a performance one, what would be a decent, inexpensive aftermarket muffler or Cat Back?

Thanks for your help.

If your car is stock and just want a replacement muffler, then any decent muffler will do.

Even a "performance" muffler isnt gonna give you much of any gain at all without increasing the size of the whole piping under your car and then ultimatly getting headers. Otherwise your still gonna be forcing air throgh a straw
