Default new guy question

I have a 02 TL Type S that as you know requires premium gas. Has anyone tried or know if you can use regular with an octane booster and get the same results for a cheaper cost?

Octane booster doesn't work. You'll get plenty of nice little carbon deposits on your valves from it.

You own a $32,000 car...why try to cheap out on the gasoline you use? If you were concerned about the cost of transportation you bought the wrong car.

I'm not trying to cheap out I simply did not know. What is wrong with trying to save a buck as long as it's in my cars best interest. Besides the TL is not a high maintiance car. Maybe if we were on the Bimmer forum, ya. But this is a Honda.

I would stay away from the Octane boosters....also, the good kind will run like $7 to $10 so you aren't going to save much. If you don't use A/C or don't have heavy loads (like car full of people going uphill or flooring your car with A/C on), then you should be fine with using midgrade gas for a short period of time. But again, 10 cents a gallon saving times 16 gallons is only $1.60.

No but it's still a $35,000 car. It's not basic transportation and shouldn't be treated as such, ya know? 'Saving a buck' is never in your car's best interest, it's only in your best interest.

...or you can be a dick about it. Sorry I tried to prevent your car from getting abused by you. Now that I think about it, go buy 10 bottles of octane booster and use it as a substitute for gasoline. Your horsepower will increase by 50% and you'll get 80MPG.
