Vehicle 1996 2.5TL 5 cyl. I was told that the distributor had internal cracks which was allowing oil to seep from the distributor. The underneath side of the engine is coated in oil. No repairs were made, engine runs fine. I just check oil more often. Has anyone had this problem?

Also, I tried to check the distributor myself but could not locate it. The sparkplug wires run from the top of the valve cover to the rear of the engine where they are attached to an assembly at the rear of the engine. This does not look like the distributor to me. Could it be beneath the engine somewhere? This is a new engine to me and it is a tight installation that does not allow easy visiblity in the engine compartment. Any help or comments will be appreciated
