Default Tranny problem

I purchased my 97 Acura CL 3.0 used, and the car hesitates when I give it gas. My uncle indicated Honda admitted there is a problem with some Acura's around the time my car was built, and is due to a incapatiblity between the tranny and engine. Is this correct? The hesitation is minor, and if it is the case, I can live with it. I just don't want to spend a lot of time and money trying to hunt down a problem.

Thanks,
Jeff in W.C.

Unless you are experiencing any slippage, I doubt it is related to the tranny. When was the last time it had a tune-up? It sounds like the engine is not getting enough fuel when you are pressing on the gas....so I would check to see if you have a dirty fuel filter or clogged fuel injectors.

Default recent maintenance done

Filters are new, new plugs, new wires, new cap and rotor. I've run several bottles of injector cleaner with no change. Dealer cannot find anything wrong. They suggested it may be the EGR valve, but could not confirm it. The only thing it's due for is the timebelt replacement.

I was curious what my uncle told me over the weekend whether or not it was true.
