Default Need Help on '02 TL-S navigation code

When I bought the car the saleman only give me the radio code and no navigation code until last week I reconnect the battery and found out there are two different code. I did not service at the dealer that I bought the car for 2 years and they delete all my information. So I called my local dealer where I serviced my car, they said they don't have in their record and told me the dealer where I bought it should have it. The local dealership also said they will charge me like $75 to remove the navigation system to get the code. So I just wondering anyone could help me find the code without getting rip-off from the dealership. I posted couple place in this board and hopefully someone will help me. I'm stuck and can't use the nav now. Thanks!

When I got my used TL, there was no code in it. I simply hit the "enter", and it let me in. I assummed this was the default after a battery change/reset.

Mine did not let me in when pressing Enter.

Code is found. It's one of the # in series in glove compartment. Screw the dealership hfawk:

I think the dealership was trying to rip you off as they should know that it would either be in the glove compartment or on a card in your owner's manual.

It's a 4 digits # on your left side glove compart.. You have to take the 2 plastic clips on side to expose the #. Good luck!

Thanks 02'!

Thats real good info to have.

Now I would drive down to the dealer, and let them know what you think about their $700 bill...

BTW, what color and trim do you have?

My '02 TL-S is Emerald Green w/ tan interior...I love it!

I'm glad you found it. Mine TLS is silver w/ebony interior. It's going back to the dealer this September and I'm happy that I didn't buy it. Too many problem on my TLS. My local Acura dealers service guys are not that friendly and they don't like mod car. After retire from Acura I can spend more time with my bimmer. They love mod car and willing to discuss technicall stuff with anyone interest. BTW and good luck to your ride!

Thanks,
I don't know about 2000 TL but it should not much of the different. First look around inside ur glove compartment to see any number...if not then look for the glove compart support tab or quick disconnect tab that usually hold it in place when you open it. Mine had two black/grayish rectangle shape plastic tabs. One on left and one on right. Slide it with light pressure to disassemble it. Once they come off you'll see couple number behind it. This is the same method if you know how to replace your AC filter.
