fan squeaks
i recently got a 97 acura cl used with 110,000 miles on it and noticed that when the fan for the air is on, there is a high-pitched squeaking somewhere behind the center of the dash. does anybody have any idea what this may be and how to fix it?

The belt might to too tight. Either get it adjusted or spray some of the silicone stuff to lubricate it.

no no no, he's referring to the HVAC fan for the interior of the car. My moms car does the same thing, I have yet to check it out though. From what I know its just like a pine needle or something that got sucked into the plenum... all you have to do is take the 3 bolts out that hold the fan in the plenum and remove whatever it is making it squeak. On the underside of the passenger side dash, next to the firewall you'll see the fan motor and the 3 bolts that have to be removed. Ive never done it before, but it seems very straight forward.
