Default Need some help on vigor speaker!!!

I just installed a pair of aftermarket speaker (sony) in my car (1993 vigor)today. When I turn the volume high, the sound become not continuously, like it stop after 5 seconds and play again, and stop and play. Can anyone give me some suggestion to fix that problem?
Note: I connected the speaker wire with black tape.

thanks.

Well my best guess it's a lose connection. Wire nuts are the best way to insure a continuous good connection.

It means it is distorted and your amp is overheating and shutting off intermittenly. What kind of amp did you hook it up to? Don't tell me you are using your stock stereo deck power with aftermarket speakers.

Yes, it is a problem. You'll either need to put in an amplifier, get a dfferent deck with higher power or put the stock speakers back in. I would recommend get a nice little amplifier to power the new speakers.
