Default wacky climate control

I own a 1999 TL with about 150,000 miles on the clock. Recently the climate control has developed a mind of its own. It will start out blowing cold air, but some magic thing happens out of the blue and all of a sudden it blows hot air. Turning it down has no effect 'till you turn it all the way to 60. Likewise it can be blowing warm air and all of a sudden it decides it's too hot and it will blow cold air. It doesn't seem to matter what setting it's on!
The dealer replaced the climate control computer, with absolutely NO success, it still acts the same. They have had the car again for 3 days now and can't figure out the problem. Has anyone else encountered this same problem?

Wow, that's weird one. Is our car still under warranty? There might be a wire that's shorting out causing it to malfunction.
