Great idea, ideal engine candidate for 1-series.
I am worried that it will just be an VW-esque 4-banger though... hopefully it's something a bit more powerful with a large-car 4-cyl and boost to match. Overall I am crossing my fingers they keep power up and drivability up while still keeping consumption and price low

they plan on getting rid of the I6 which is a bad bad idea. no FI 4 banger will come anything close to the silkyness of an I6.
and bmw isn't doing this to keep price low, they're doing it to reduce production variations and keep profit high.
