Default 2008 Mazda 6

Here's an official picture of the Mazda 6 that will be on sale this fall and will be totally unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. The new Mazda 6 will be based on the Ford Mondeo (CD-EU platform).

This is the Ford Mondeo which runs at about the equivalent of 30k American dollars in Europe for those of you unfamiliar with this vehicle:

For one reason or another, it reminds me of an IS350

Interior photo:
Is that a VW style key fob? Notice the quad-style gauge layout. The accent around the driver's air vent adds a nice touch.

Rear quarter panel photo:
Check out the dual exhaust housings...they're pretty nice IMO. Notice the bump in the camoflauge right above the rear window.....XM sattelite radio?
Haha, fiinally some form of rear head restraints in the back seat (I was in a rear end impact last week where I recieved whip lash while sitting in the back seat of a friends 07 Ford Taurus which has no head restraints..and being 6'1 doesn't help). Anyway, I think that the Mazda 6 looks very promising and very appealing.

There's more than a bit of A6 in there too.
Not totally wild on the headlights, but otherwise it's pretty sharp looking for a Ford.

I read somewhere that Mazda will not be looking for parts in the "Ford bin"...maybe this car's 4 cyl will actually get a 5 speed auto, the safety will be top notch as oppose the the fusion/milan/mkz, and will come with much more advanced features as standard.

I'd take one over the 08 accord without blinking.

It's a sexy looking car, but unfortunately it still uses a Duratec based V6 which is the worst engine block ever.

In for Mazdaspeed version.
