Default Stock Accord Head Unit Wiring

Hello,

I have a 2001 Accord EX/V6 with the in dash 6 CD head unit. I have been trying to find out how the front drivers and tweeters are wired without much success. Does anyone know if there is a crossover located in the head unit or is the door speaker wired direct and the tweeter use a bass blocker? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

From wut i understand...there is a builtin x-over for the accord EX. Why are you planning to redo ur system? I did mines in my accord and just rewired the entire system. So much easier knowing what's what. Feedback

Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm in the process of changing the speakers out but want to keep the stock head unit. So far I have put Polk DB690's in the back and am planning on putting Polk DB650's in the font. I would also like to replace the stock tweeters but I wanted to see if I could just hook them up to the stock wiring. There's really a big change just by swapping out the rear speakers.

If you like the Polk DB series, might i interest u in the DB6500 component model. They are very costly but if brand matching is what you're looking for, it's a good choice.

Changing the stock tweeters and putting them in the same place is a major no no, which i never recommend. When you run aftermarket tweeters, you expect to get the most out of them. Imagine this...when the sound is produced, tweeter from the top doesn't come out good. What I did on my 00 accord was mount the tweeters on the door panel. Sounds so much cleaner! Good luck
