Default GEN3 Teg, Audio Installation Questions, help

When it comes to installing car stereo, I sure miss my CRX... Honda didn't make it easy
on us when they designed the third gen Integras. Anyways, does anybody know whether removing
the inside door panel will give me enough access to drill a whole below the factory door
harness? I need to run new 12awg speaker wire to the door speakers and I do not see any
other way to do it.

How would one properly remove the door panel? I just got my car and I do not want to ruin
something due to my ignorance. Also, how is the side rear inside panel correctly removed? I
understand that this is the only way to gain access and to change the rear speakers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

to remove the door panel you have to take off 3-4 screws....one is inside the door handle behind this flap, another is in that cup like dealy, and the last one is right by the hindges....

after the screws you go from the bottom and pull out. they are held in with clips....then move your way up. then after all the clips you pull the whole panel up.

i have 12gauge in my doors and removing the panels were not required....gotta have some patience and imagination.

to remove door panels on the 3rd gen coupe, **this is how i do it** unscrew 3 screws, one behind the door handle, one in the little cup like "door puller" thing, and one plastic screw under the mirror. take off the speaker cover by pulling out the bottom part of it. With that out, pull on the door panel by holding onto the spaces inside the speaker which you opened up. OR take a panel removal tool and remove the 7 or so plastic clips that hold it in place. nothing too it.

here is a pic i took while installing my alpines....

thats the amount of space you have to deal with

IMO, bigger wiring is nicer but not necessary...

bigger wiring really does only matter if you're going competition... your normal person isnt going to notice a difference.

i do have 12 gauge going to my front speakers, but they are infinity kappa 6.5" woofers and 1" silk dome tweets, with a 100x2 amp pushin them... they scream

ok, I got 6.5 Alpine Type R mids with 1" Soft Dome Tweeters being pushed by my pioneer HU with all of its 45 watt MOSEFT amp through the stock wiring

I later (after i stop spending money on performance [never]) want to get an amp. These are 50W RMS and 200 Peak. So what type of amp should I look for (like channels and watts)? If you have specific brands and models that you suggest please do.

I would go for a 75 x 4 channel amp. I have a Sony Mobile ES amp that does that and it sounds good. I had my reservations about buying a Sony, but I am very happy with how it sounds. Getting a 4 channel amp is the BEST thing you can do for your system, IMHO. You can pick up the Sony for around 300 bucks too, which makes it a good deal for the money.

Of course, if you have more money, I suggest Soundstream. Quality. I can't be more happy with my Reference series amp that I power my sub with.

PS I know that tweleve gauge is overkill, but I figured since I have to go through all this trouble to run it, why not?
